Systems Support Engineer

Job duties

  • Maintain aircraft mounted airborne remote sensing equipment.
  • Analyze acquisition data for quality control.
  • Read and understand electrical and electronic drawings.
  • Maintain upgrades and perform testing of proprietary real-time acquisition software.
  • Assemble, test, and develop and implement new technologies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuitry.
  • Working knowledge and use of computers & basic physics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills/problem solving.
  • Ability to work with hands (soldering, mechanical tools).
  • Interest in travelling worldwide to remote locations.
  • Knowledge of avionics and experience in geophysics is an asset.


Electronic Technician / Airborne Field Operator

Job Duties

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot airborne geophysical equipment.
  • Operate airborne geophysical equipment in-flight.
  • Daily flying in a helicopter for several hours.
  • Service and repair field equipment in the warehouse when not on a field assignment.

Requirements

  • Electronic Technician college diploma or equivalent.
  • Practical hands-on experience in operating/maintaining/troubleshooting electronic equipment.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods (6 – 8 weeks at a time).
  • Ability to fly in a helicopter for 6 – 8 hours daily.
  • Previous experience in airborne geophysics is an asset.
  • Job requires ability to work with tools and materials.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong problem solving techniques.
  • A valid motor vehicle license (G class).

Work conditions

Geophysicist

Job Duties:

  • Conduct geophysical surveys using various techniques such as seismic, gravity, magnetic, and electromagnetic methods.
  • Process, analyze, and interpret geophysical data to generate accurate geological models. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geophysical data with geological, geochemical, and geotechnical information.
  • Provide expert insights and recommendations to support exploration and development projects.
  • Stay current with advancements in geophysical technologies and methodologies.
  • Plan, direct and participate in geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies, drilling and geological testing programs
  • Plan and conduct seismic, geodetic, electromagnetic, magnetic, gravimetric, radiometric, radar and other remote sensing programs
  • Plan, direct and participate in analyses of geological, geochemical and geophysical survey data, well logs and other test results, maps, notes and cross sections
  • Develop models and applied software for the analysis and interpretation of data
  • Plan and conduct analytical studies of core samples, drill cuttings and rock samples to identify chemical, mineral, hydrocarbon and biological composition and to assess depositional environments and geological age
  • Assess the size, orientation and composition of mineral ore bodies and hydrocarbon deposits
  • Identify deposits of construction materials and determine their characteristics and suitability for use as concrete aggregates, road fill or for other applications
  • Conduct geological and geophysical studies for regional development and advise in areas such as site selection, waste management and restoration of contaminated sites

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in geology, geochemistry, geophysics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience of at least three years in conducting geophysical surveys and interpreting data.
  • Proficiency in geophysical software packages such as SeisVision, Kingdom Suite, and Oasis montaj.

Drone Operator – Heavy BVLOS RPAS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drone Operator to oversee the operation of heavy-lift BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with heavy-lift, long-endurance drones, and advanced drone operations. This role is crucial to the successful execution of complex flight missions and the advancement of our drone operations.

Job Duties:

  • Operate drones for airborne geophysical surveys and complex flight missions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and execute flight paths based on project specifications, weather conditions, and operational goals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on drone equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations, including obtaining necessary permits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during drone operations.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, new technology, and best practices.
  • Document all flights and maintenance in accordance with regulations.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure safe operation.
  • Stay up-to-date on CARs-related regulations.
  • Be comfortable with low terrain following, navigating in challenging environments and potential night-time operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in drone operations, particularly in heavy-lift, long-endurance BVLOS operations.
  • Licensed Advanced Remote Pilot with Transport Canada RPAS certification (mandatory).
  • Proven flight hours with drones over 25kg or in BVLOS operations.
  • Proficiency in flight planning, mission execution, and flight data analysis.
  • Ability to maintain recency and meet Transport Canada requirements.
  • Strong understanding of drone technology, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with tethered payload operations and GIS/data analysis tools.
  • Previous piloting experience is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain or hold Part 107 Certification (USA) for U.S. operations (nice to have).

Chief Drone Pilot – Heavy BVLOS RPAS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Pilot to lead and oversee the operation of heavy-lift BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems). The ideal candidate will possess advanced operational expertise in drone technology, particularly with heavy-lift, long-endurance drones, and have a solid understanding of advanced drone operations. This role will be integral to the development of our advanced drone pilot crew and the successful execution of complex flight missions.

Job Duties:

  • Lead and supervise all heavy-lift BVLOS drone operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the training and development of company pilots, ensuring they meet all operational standards and safety protocols.
  • Provide expert guidance in the use of RPAS with a payload on a tether, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of operational procedures, safety guidelines, and training programs.
  • Work closely with other departments to develop and maintain a high level of operational efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure that all flights, training activities, and drone maintenance are thoroughly documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drone operations, with a focus on heavy-lift, long-endurance BVLOS operations.
  • Licensed Advanced Remote Pilot with Transport Canada RPAS
  • Experience flying heavy-lift drones, with a preference for experience in survey missions and operations with tethered payload.
  • In-depth knowledge of drone safety, risk assessment, and operational planning for complex missions.
  • Experience with flight planning, mission execution, and flight data analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and develop a team of pilots.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally to support operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Licensed RPAS Trainer: Ability to train and certify other pilots in line with regulatory standards.
  • Additional Languages: Proficiency in additional languages is a plus to support international operations.
  • Part 107 Certification (USA): Registration or willingness to obtain Part 107 for U.S. operations is a bonus.


Fleet Maintenance and Shop Technician 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Fleet Maintenance & Inspections
    • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including two pickup trucks, cargo vans, and three trailers.
    • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly, prioritizing field-readiness. Small jobs are to be done in the shop and large jobs identified and sent to a licensed local mechanic.
  • Fleet Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle and trailer.
    • Track routine maintenance schedules and notify management of upcoming needs.
    • Document repairs and parts replaced, ensuring accurate records for audits and inspections.
    • Keep up-to-date with latest inspection reports from deployed vehicles and communicate expected maintenance intervals and recommendations to crews in the field.
  • General Shop Duties
    • Assist with various tasks around the shop when not busy with fleet management duties.
  • Health & Safety Compliance
    • Adhere to all safety protocols within the shop and when working on fleet vehicles.
    • Keep work areas clean and organized, following best practices for equipment and tool use.

Requirements:

  • Licensed mechanic with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Previous experience with fleet maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of trailer maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills for team collaboration and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented with good record-keeping skills.
